Mark is a Partner and CFO of Cross Rapids. Prior to joining Cross Rapids in November 2020, Mark was at KKR from 2008 to 2020, most recently as a Director. In 2017-2020, he led a newly formed Private Markets Operations team, focused on cross-functional efficiencies, specifically streamlining the investment closing process for deal teams, LP onboarding and client communications, as well as data and performance analysis with regards to the firm and portfolio companies. Mark created the team in order to realize efficiencies and reduce risk, collaborating closely with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Front Office, Tax, Information Technology and Public Affairs. In 2008-2016 Mark held roles of increasing responsibility as controller for the firm’s management company, responsible for all accounting and financial reporting for the Private Markets business, which included private equity, real assets, and other related strategies. Over the course of his tenure, Mark led a number of initiatives, including converting the management company from partnership/tax basis to GAAP in preparation for going public, implementing SAP, and serving as business lead during a two-year SEC routine examination, resulting in significant process changes by KKR. Prior to joining KKR, Mark worked at AEA Advisors, Overseas Shipholding Group, and VNU Expositions. Mark began his career as an auditor at Ernst & Young LLP.
Mark, who holds his CPA license, graduated from Binghamton University, where he earned a B.S. in Accounting.
